ラウンドテーブルセッションは、従来の研究発表中心の学術交流から、会員の発案による特定のトピックに関する議論を中心にした学術交流へシフトすることを意識した、新しい会議形式です。 それぞれのセッションはセッションオーガナイザーを含む原則4名程度のそのトピックに関心の強いパネリストで、セッションオーガナイザーが準備したトピックについて60分間の議論をしてもらいます。以下に記す今年のテーマに即し建築情報学の発展と啓蒙にふさわしいトピックについての、他ではできない深い議論や意見交換を期待します。

Nearly four years have passed since the emergence of generative AI, yet no established methodology has been formed regarding how it should be positioned and utilized within architectural education, particularly in the context of design studios. This session examines design studios and seminars conducted at the School of Architecture at the University of Texas at Austin. | セッション概要 | 建築（環境のスケール）・衣服（身体のスケール）・音楽（時間のスケール）が融合したときに生まれる空気感を題材にしたセッションを提案する．中川宏文さんデザインの「Sein」1st collection（2025/12/28）の発表イベントでは，石上純也さんのKAIT広場という建築的条件に，石上真由子さんのバイオリンの生演奏とSakuraTsurutaさんの電子楽曲，そして中川宏文さんのデザインした衣服を重ね合わせ，一夜限りの空気感が立ち上がった． |

Such data-driven communication tools have demonstrated tangible benefits—for example, sharing gaze information between expert and novice designers has been shown to reduce misunderstandings and shorten interaction time. |
At the same time, accessing and exchanging information about individuals’ psychological and physiological states raises serious concerns regarding privacy, autonomy, and human freedom. The session features speakers working across zoning and rezoning efforts, community-oriented planning initiatives, and permitting and code review processes. Together, they bring perspectives from policy reform, computational urban planning, and regulatory practice. While the specific applications differ, all speakers engage AI as a means of augmenting human judgment rather than replacing it, operating within legal, institutional, and procedural constraints.

| セッション概要 | Computational Design Beyond Architecture is a panel discussion that explores how computational design tools, methods, and modes of thinking extend beyond their recent architectural prominence into broader design domains. While computational design is often associated today with architecture, its origins lie across multiple disciplines—from early computer graphics, computer aided designs, interaction designs, and media arts. Architecture has become a particularly active testing ground in recent decades, but it does not represent the limits of computational design’s applicability. |
This panel brings together three international practitioners and researchers to discuss case studies where computational design has been applied to non-architectural contexts such as product design, interaction and experience design, and hybrid digital–physical practices. Through these examples, the discussion will examine how algorithmic thinking, parametric systems, generative processes, and data-driven workflows are adapted, transformed, or reinterpreted outside architectural production.
Beyond sharing tools and techniques, the panel aims to address computational design as a transferable way of thinking—one that enables designers to navigate complexity, variation, and uncertainty across diverse fields. | セッション概要 | As AI systems become agentic collaborators—capable of executing multi-step analytical and procedural tasks—architectural practice may face a structural shift. Historically, “architectural voice” has often been a privilege: autonomy tends to belong to wealth-backed projects, while much of everyday practice is shaped by client demands for standardized “good taste”—safe imitation of what already signals status. |
The question is: could agentic AI make author-centric architecture a realistic demand rather than a luxury? Two developments make this plausible. First, AI-driven abundance may raise the value of human authenticity, a trend already visible in creative industries. Second, if agentic pipelines can absorb “obedient labor”—site/urban analysis, constraint checking, optimization, compliance, and controlled replication—imitation-oriented production may become a cheap mass-market default, what clients pay a premium for ultimately shifting toward a genuinely distinctive voice.
The discussion will be structured around three questions: (1) Can “AI as backbone” increase architectural autonomy, or will it instead make practice more template-driven—who ends up holding agency: the architect, the client, or the platform provider? (2) Will AI-driven abundance give authentic architectural voice a new value—could “fun,” authored architecture become the new status signal?
